T ime has stood still at this camp on the shore of Burhaniye Bay. Nature here is as beautiful and unspoilt as it was decades ago.

PE teacher Tahir Altın set up this little paradise in the 60s, planting hundreds of trees of different varieties at a time when camping was all the rage. For many years, Camp Altın thrived; then circumstances changed. Tahir Bey has now passed away. His wife, children and grandchildren have revived the camp, building simple but functional rooms among the pine trees. With plenty of shade, air conditioning is superfluous. This place is in our book for its natural setting rather than its somewhat “retro” facilities. The formula is simple: seaside and plenty of trees. If you are seeking luxury, you won’t find it here. For children, it is simply heaven.
